Indian Trail

The dawn is breaking through the morning still

I hear the lonely call of a whipporwill.

The morning is starting like the others

A child calls for his mother

The morning dew is heavy on the ground

As beautiful as the gift I've found.

Slowly the clouds start to drift

As they continue their morning lift.

The day lingers on as before,

Never knowing what we're heading for

As the sun comes shining through my door...

No never knowing what we're heading for.

The afternoon haze comes through the trees

Undisturbed by a single breeze.

The beauty of the beasts and flowers

Never notice the passing hours.

As the sun sinks slowly down behind the hill

I hear the lonely call of a whipporwill.

As the sun sinks slowly down behind the hill

I hear the lonely call of a whipporwill.
