Middleground

Two hearts sitting on the west side,

Two more sitting to the east.

Two lovers bound in silence

Just waiting for release.

A storm is brewing in the middle as

Two fronts crash head to head.

Two hearts drowning together

In a storm emotion fed.

I can see the lightening.

I can smell the rain.

I can hear the thunder.

I can feel the pain.

Inside the raging hurricane

Two souls, they did collide.

They bound one to another for

The duration of the ride.

Holding on to each other,

Riding out the storms above,

Two hearts thrown together,

Two hearts in search of love.

I can see the lightening.

I can smell the rain.

I can hear the thunder.

I can feel the pain.

Calm falls over the lover's as

The eye passes over head.

The silent sound is deafening

As if the world were dead.

By faith, they run to shelter

AS the hush fell all around

As one they brave the weather

With the trust that they had found.

I can see the lightening.

I can smell the rain.

I can hear the thunder.

I can feel the pain.

Fragments of shattered dreams,

False hope and selfish pride

Lay scattered all around them

With nothing left to hide.

So glean the shards and pick your pieces.

Be wise of the lessons found.

Take heed that life ain't easy

When you stand on Middle Ground.

I can see the lightening.

I can smell the rain.

I can hear the thunder.

I can feel the pain.

I can feel the pain.

God! I hate the pain.
